Jena graduated with Honors from the University of Connecticut in 1995, then earned master's degrees in Medieval Studies (Fordham University) and Secondary Education (University of Hartford). She began as a high school teacher before moving to the private sector in 2004 to manage various businesses. Alongside her career, she has raised five children and enjoys outdoor activities, golf, skiing, cooking, and traveling.
